Two cinema enthusiasts particularly keen on movies locations.

Harry Potter, James Bond, Amelie, Midnight in Paris, Roman Holiday, Sex in the City, The Lords of the Rings, Inspector Montalbano… Every year more and more people travel to visit the places where their favourite movies or TV series were filmed.

Hollywood on the Italian Riviera (aka Hollywood Torna in Riviera) is a film tourism project started around Come September (Torna a Settembre). The 1961 romantic comedy, starring Gina Lollobrigida, Rock Hudson, Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin and Walter Slezak filmed in Santa Margherita and Portofino.

This project resulted in a first exhibition hosted in London in July 2012. We are now working towards other potential events including one ‘on location’.

Considering that Liguria, the Italian Riviera, is one of the most used region for filming in Italy, our project will now cover other movies shot in Liguria, hence the creation of this blog.

I am the ‘pretty face’ writing the posts and appearing on the pictures but, as it is often the case, I am not alone in those movie location adventures. In the projection box, hard at work is a little mouse, helping out with the research, looking for films, getting in touch with people, etc: Sarah Benedetti. She just doesn’t like the spotlights!

Harry Potter, James Bond, Amelie, Midnight in Paris, Vacanze Romane, Sex in the City, Il Signore degli Anelli, Commissario Montalbano, etc. Ogni anno sempre più persone viaggiano per visitare i luoghi dove sono stati girati i loro film o serie televisive preferite.

Hollywood Torna in Riviera è un progetto riguardante il cineturismo partito dal film Torna a Settembre, commedia romantica del 1961 con Gina Lollobrigida, Rock Hudson, Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin e Walter Slezak filmata

a Santa Margherita Ligure e Portofino.

Una prima mostra sul progetto è stata organizzata a Londra nel Luglio del 2012. Ora stiamo lavorando ad una nuova edizione potenzialmente in una delle location utilizzate nel film.

Considerando che la Liguria è una delle regioni più utilizzate per riprese cinematografiche in Italia, il nostro progetto si sta ampliando a altri film girati nella regione e per questo abbiamo aperto questo blog.

Io sono il “bel viso” che scrive gli articoli e appare nelle foto ma, come succede spesso non sono solo in questa avventura sulle “movie locations”. Nella sala di montaggio, lavora un prezioso aiutante, occupandosi delle ricerche, cercando i films e contattando persone etc.: Sarah Benedetti. Solo che lei non ama le luci dei riflettori!
